Wowing the MAGA Crowd

Certain moments vault candidates to the forefront. Donald Trump captured the public’s attention when he descended on that escalator while decrying “murderers and rapists though some, I suppose, are good people”.

“Wow. That rich guy with the odd hair is a racist just like me. I’ll vote for him!”

Ron DeSantis wowed the MAGA crowd yesterday when he shipped two planeloads of immigrants from Florida to Martha’s Vineyard, summer playground of the wealthy and vacation spot for the Obamas. Ron also considered flying the immigrants to Delaware which would have been an even more direct slap at Joe Biden.

“Wow. That Florida Governor who looks like he should be packing groceries at Wal-Mart really “stuck it to the Dems” with that one. I’ll vote for him!”

A DeSantis spokesperson said, “States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies.”

Ron’s Martha’s Vineyard stunt is clearly that. The “shot and a beer” crowd may be having second thoughts about Trump. “Maybe a guy who owns golf courses around the world doesn’t care as much about me as he does for his corporate buddies who got a big tax cut. Plus Melania’s best handbag cost more than I earn in a year.”

Trump is the symptom, not the disease. “White Resentment” will eventually morph into fascism. Trump was narcissistic and, frankly, not that intelligent. It was all about him. Ron DeSantis is smart enough to say what people want to hear and then do what he wants once in power. He is more devoted to The Cause than himself. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
