What He Wants to Hear

“Tell the Boss what he wants to hear and you will go far. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the truth.”

When G.W. Bush and Dick Cheney wanted an excuse to invade Iraq, the CIA magically decided that grain silos were Weapons of Mass Destruction. G.W. and Dick got their excuse and 4,400 young Americans died seeking WMDs that were never there. Heads did not roll at the CIA as a result. In fact, guys got promoted.

When Donnie wanted a scapegoat for COVID, he blamed a leak of the deadly virus from a Chinese lab that somehow was Dr Fauci’s fault. The CIA probably would have magically decided that Dr Fauci’s lab leak was to blame in 2020, but Donnie was voted out of office that year. More than one million dead Americans later, Donnie still needs a scapegoat for his vaccine bashing. Now that he is back in office, his new CIA Director, John Ratcliffe, issued a report after less than a week in office stating that the virus originated in that Chinese lab. He was backed by Donnie’s new head of the National Institutes of Health, Matthew Memoli, PhD. Dr Matt apparently failed Epidemiology 101 in school. He was against COVID vaccines and sought an exemption for himself and his family. “If everyone else is vaccinated, we don’t have to be” is a crappy idea, Dr Matt. More than one million dead Americans would agree.

Besides appointing lackeys to positions where they can tell him what he wants to hear, Donnie removed Dr Fauci’s security detail. Dr Fauci received numerous death threats for his advocacy of shutdowns during the height of the COVID outbreak. Those threats have continued to this day. Donnie justified it by saying, “You can’t have a security detail for the rest of your life just because you worked for the government.” But maybe you do need some security when gun-toting “patriots” like the Proud Boys believe everything they hear on Fox News and will probably get pardoned if they take a shot at Dr Fauci anyway.

Keep on telling Donnie what he wants to hear, though.
