The Other Marge II
Marjorie Schlappe Dufton had to quit school in the 10th grade to join her sisters working at “The Button Mill”, Consolidated Plastics in Scranton, where they manufactured (you guessed it) buttons. Marge I never took a course in Electrical Engineering, but she had some idea where electricity comes from and how it works.
Marjorie Taylor Greene graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Business Administration and eventually was elected to Congress. Marge II clearly never took a course in Electrical Engineering and clearly has zero concept of where electricity comes from or how it works.
In a speech to her constituents this week, Marge II explained why she voted against the Inflation Reduction Act that provided billions to support wind and solar power generation.
“What happens when the sun goes down? What happens when the wind doesn’t blow?”
“Thank god for air conditioning. Let’s talk about refrigerators. I personally like my refrigerator. I know you all like yours. What about washing machines and dryers? Lord please God don’t make me scrub clothes in a bucket at nighttime and have to hang them out on a line when we switch over to wind turbines and solar panels. I’m gonna be really pissed off about that. I mean, how absurd is this? I like the lights on. I wanna stay up later at night. I don’t wanna have to go to bed when the sun sets. It’s so silly! I mean, all of this is insane.”
It’s bad enough that the Democrats in Congress want to take away our guns, but now they want us to sit in the dark with no air conditioning while our food spoils in the fridge. That’s why Marge II and every single Republican in Congress voted against this bill. “Let’s Go, Brandon”, indeed.
Marge I was born in 1916. The Schlappe household did not get electricity until 1923. But she knew that electricity can be stored and delivered on demand even in the dark, even in the calm.
Marge I would have been a better Congresswoman than Marge II.
