Three proverbs guide Trump’s re-election strategy.

1. “There’s no such thing as bad publicity”. Donnie headlined the news nearly every day since he left office with stories that would send any other candidate into the dustbin of history. Each arraignment and felony trial led to increased donations.

2. “Repeat a lie often enough and eventually people will believe it.” Donnie has constantly claimed that the 2020 election was “rigged” against him for the past three years. 20% of Republicans still agree with him despite zero proof.

3. “The bigger the lie, the more people will believe it.” A majority of Republicans labeled Jan 6 as “mostly an Antifa-inspired attack that involved only a few Trump supporters.” Those clever Antifa guys disguised themselves in MAGA regalia to fool us! Also, nearly half of Republicans deny that Donnie ever had classified documents sitting in bathrooms at Mar-a-Lago and claim that those documents were “probably planted”. The crystal chandeliers in the Mar-a-Lago bathrooms were “probably planted”, too.

P.T. Barnum once said, “No one ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public.” Trump (and his lackeys at Fox News) might add, “No one ever got elected by over-estimating the intelligence of the American public.”
