Our House is a Very Very Very Fine House

Our Republican friends got very jealous when first the Mueller Investigation, then the two Impeachment Proceedings, and finally the Jan 6 Hearings occupied all that airtime on CNN, MSNBC, and NPR. “When we get control of the House of Representatives, we will show those Dems how to preen for the camera and make ridiculous claims.”

Last week, the incoming chairs of the House Judiciary and the House Oversight Committees announced that their first order of business when the new Congress is installed in January is to investigate Hunter Biden. The North Koreans may have a missile capable of reaching the US. Inflation continues to rage. There may not be enough natural gas or fuel oil to keep us warm this winter. But Congressional Republicans recognize the Real Threat to America — Hunter Biden.

“Hunter Biden is conducting business with suspected human traffickers.” That’s still better than Hillary drinking the blood of sacrificed children in a D.C. pizzeria.

“Hunter Biden and Joe Biden are involved in a scheme to get China to buy Liquefied Natural Gas”. Apparently, Joe needs some way to earn a living after his term is complete.

“Hunter wanted keys made so he could get into the Oval Office.” Why would the KGB pay Hunter Biden to steal secrets from the Oval Office when those secrets are available for the asking from Donnie’s stash at Mar-a-Lago?

Surely, incoming House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has different priorities in mind. He said, “The first legislation the House will tackle in 2023 is to get rid of those 87,000 new IRS agents from Biden’s so-called Inflation Reduction Act.” Kevin must have been home with the flu and missed Congress when that Act was passed. The true number of IRS “new hires” is about 15,000 and nearly all of them will be assigned to answer the damn phones during tax return season. The reminder will go after blatant tax cheats like those corporations that pay zero Federal income taxes.

No Republican press conference would be complete without a few wacky comments from Marjorie Taylor Greene. Marge wants to force a vote on ending military funding to Ukraine. “Is Ukraine now the 51st state?”, asked Marge. Matt Gaetz chimed in, “I will not vote for one more dollar for Ukraine.”

Let’s support tax cheats, but let’s screw over people fighting against an invasion and winning due to our help.

The inmates will truly be running the asylum that will be the House of Representatives come January.
