Off-the-Wall
The Letters to the Editor in swing state Pennsylvania and especially in its bellwether Lehigh Valley are more off-the-wall every day.
John Colarusso wrote. “A message to my fellow veterans before you vote. It was the Biden-Harris administration that forced more than 8,000 military personnel to be discharged for not complying with the mandate to get the COVID vaccine thus ruining many promising careers. What happened to “My Body — My Choice”? I guess out only counts for Dem-backed issues. The same administration also opposed a pay increase for our military. Who can vote for a Commander-in-Chief who does not support his own military?”
Ed Dufton would write a response. “A message to fellow veteran John. The First Rule of Fight Club (Sorry!). The First Rule of Soldiering is Obey Orders. When given an order to get an inoculation, you get the damn thing. Soldiers and sailors live in close quarters and can spread a big-time communicable disease like COVID in a heartbeat. Maybe a GI who blithely ignores the health of his fellows doesn’t deserve a “promising career”. It’s not “My Body — My Choice”. It’s everyone else in your unit’s body as well.”
“Military pay has increased every year no matter who was president or which party controlled Congress. Get your facts straight, John.”
“”Who can vote for a Commander-in-Chief who referred to veterans buried in military cemeteries as “suckers and losers?”
