Melania — The Movie

I am an Amazon Prime subscriber. It was a helluva deal at $100 / year when I signed on. I saved more than that with its free shipping. Its video streaming was a bonus. Amazon Prime has increased to $185 / year, but it is still a deal for me. The Amazon truck stopped at 10 Beaver Lane pretty much every day in December for free and Prime was the only way to watchThursday Night NFL football since September.

On the down side, Prime’s original programming is not as good as the stuff on Netflix or Apple. That is about to change. Amazon will release a new documentary about Melania Trump on its Prime Video streaming service, the company said Sunday. Directed by Brett Ratner and executive produced by Melania herself, the film will give viewers an “unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at the former first lady’s life”. Filming is already underway for the project, which is set to be released later this year.

That Melania, what a wonder! Every day last year, she was working hard on this film, pushing her “best-selling” book “Melania”, getting Barron ready for college, and campaigning for Donnie! She must be exhausted.

How did Jeff Bezos become Jeff Bezos? The Amazon CEO not only contributed $1 million to the Trump Inauguration Fund, but he green lighted “Melania — The Movie”. Other billionaires can suck up to Donnie with million dollar donations, but only Bezos can do the movie thing.

Bezos could not get Spielberg or Scorsese to direct “Melania — The Movie”. You know how those bleeding heart Hollywood types are, so he got Brett Ratner. Brett hasn’t worked since 2015 when he helmed the straight-to-video “Breakthrough’“. Brett’s nine year career “gap” might also be due to his being accused of sexual harassment by nine women. Melania should feel right at home with him.

The gym where I worked out during the summer of 2016 had one TV which was always tuned to Fox News. “Fox and Friends” commentators gushed over Melania during the Republican National Convention. “She speaks five languages! She has a degree in Architecture! She will be the most accomplished First Lady since Jackie Kennedy!” I threw up in my mouth on hearing this crap.

Will Melania narrate her movie in all five languages? Will she pull out her drawing board and sketch improvements to Notre Dame? You can expect all this and more in “Melania — The Movie” streaming into your home soon!
