Big Brother Biden
Do people really believe what they hear on Fox News?
“ISIS infiltrated that 4,000 strong caravan headed for our southern border! Biden and Harris don’t care. They are off to Europe!”
“A Florida man was arrested after setting fire to statue of Jesus Christ and two homes!” Fox was more irate about the statue than the homes. Houses burn every day but vandalizing Jesus statues show how far this country has fallen under the Biden administration.
Mark Porcaro apparently takes Fox News to heart as reflected in his Letter to the Editor. Regarding the Build Back Better proposal, Mark wrote,”The promise that this package has zero cost to the middle class is, to be polite, disingenuous. The trickle-down cost of higher taxes on the wealthy will be passed down to all socioeconomic classes in one form or the other.”
Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson found enough loose change between their couch cushions to build their own rocket and to send themselves into space. They can probably afford to kick in a few bucks to the IRS so that we retirees can have vision and hearing added to our Medicare. Donald Trump paid all of $750 in income tax during two of the four years that he was president. Uncle Sam takes more than that per month from Harriet and me. We don’t even get to fly in Air Force One for a golfing weekend on the government’s dime.
No Fox News-inspired rant is complete without a frightening (and usually inaccurate) statistic. Mark continued, “If this is about the rich paying their fair share, why is there a requirement in Biden’s bill that forces financial institutions to monitor transactions in accounts that have balances over $600 at any time during the year and to report those transactions to the IRS?”
OMG. When my $1,800 Social Security check is direct deposited each month, the IRS gets a record of every bill I pay and every ATM withdrawal I make. “Why was your water bill so much higher this summer than it was last winter? Were you watering your lawn during a drought? Big Brother Biden doesn’t like that. We are placing a lien on your home.”
Mark finished with a bang. “Higher costs on products, inflation, invasion of privacy, more government intrusion in our lives? No, thank you.”
There’s an opening for you at Fox News, Mark. You will fit right in.
