Banksy Lives!

The British street artist Banksy remains anonymous though his brilliant satirical works in public places could sell for millions. Either Banksy has “crossed the pond” or he/she has an American disciple. Two brilliant satirical works appeared in D.C. recently.

Last week, a replica of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s desk topped with a giant swirled poop patterned after the talking “South Park” poop and the omnipresent emoji appeared on the National Mall. One of the more disgusting aspects of Jan 6 (that Day Of Love and Peaceful Political Discourse according to Donnie) was when a “patriot” broke into Nancy’s office and defecated on her desk. The caption below the replica desk read, “This memorial is dedicated to the brave men and women who broke into the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 to loot, urinate, and defecate throughout theses hallowed halls in order to overturn an election.”

Way to counter Donnie’s revisionist history of Jan 6, American Banksy!

This week, a bronze statue of a clenched fist holding a tiki torch appeared on Freedom Plaza NW. D.C. is chock full of monuments and most people passed this one by. Then they read the plaque below the torch. “The Donald J. Trump Enduring Flame. This monument pays tribute to President Donald Trump and the “very fine people” he boldly stood to defend when they marched in Charlottesville, Virginia. While many have called them white supremacists and neo-Nazis, President Trump’s voice rang out above the rest to remind all that they were “treated absolutely unfairly”. This monument stands as an everlasting reminder of that bold proclamation.”

Bravo, American Banksy!

The Martin Luther King Memorial in D.C. includes this quote, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that.” Donnie’s words do not fit in with the inspirational and aspirational quotes of real American heroes. Thanks for bringing that out, American Banksy.
