Any Excuse is a Good One
What really did happen to cause the dinosaurs to disappear?
Some say that an asteroid strike caused a decades-long bitter winter that essentially froze the large cold-blooded beasts. Climate scientists stand by a naturally-occurring Ice Age. Others claim that a pandemic that limited dinosaur reproduction that caused them to die out.
American are not going to let that happen to us today. A Kaiser Survey of parents who refuse to vaccinate their kids against COVID showed that two-thirds (!) of them were specifically concerned that the vaccine would affect their children’ future fertility. A false report published widely on the Internet claims that a coronavirus spike protein had precisely that affect and that vaccination amplified it. Who needs “The Pill”? Get vaccinated against COVID and you don’t have to worry about being pursued by “Pro-Life” vigilantes in Texas pursuing that $10 K reward.
Dr Fauci and those clowns in the CDC claim that there is no impact on fertility from the vaccine. Vaccines have been widely available for nearly one year now and vaccinated women have been getting pregnant at the same rate as the unvaccinated. Since more than 200 million Americans are vaccinated and hospital delivery rooms remain busy, we need not fear dying off childless like the dinosaurs.
Still, any excuse is a good one to some. More than half of parents who refuse to have their kids vaccinated also cite taking time off from work if their kids experience post-vaccination symptoms. You might have to take even more time off for their funerals, folks.
Medical experts like Donald Trump and Florida Governor DeSantis claimed that children are naturally immune from COVID. Parents with kids on ventilators might disagree. Come to think of it, why do we put infants in car seats and guard our bike-riding youth with helmets? The Internet probably claims that drunks and kids are immune to blunt force trauma. Again, any excuse is a good one.
Let’s not share the fate of the dinosaurs. Let’s immunize our kids. They will provide us with plenty of grandchildren.
