A Clear Epidemic

Conservative commentators must fill an hour every day with vitriol. Current events often provide good material for rage.

Matt Walsh hopped right on the Nashville school shooting. He described the “gender ideology movement” the “most hateful and violent movement in America” on a Wednesday podcast episode entitled “Christian Children Murdered by Trans Mass Shooter.” According to Matt, trans people are more “hateful and violent” than the fine folks who marched in Charlottesville. I wonder if Matt would have cheered if that “trans mass shooter” had invaded a Hebrew or a Muslim school.

Fox News would not let Nashville go by without twisting it into their ideology. Tucker Carlson featured a photo of the shooter superimposed with the words “Trans Killer” on his Tuesday show. The chyron read: “We are witnessing the rise of trans violence.” You tell ’em, Tuckie. Imagine the damage if that “typical Capitol tour group” on Jan 6 had been composed of violence-prone trans people instead of well-behaved Proud Boys and Oath Keepers.

Of course, our Boy Donnie had to comment. The man who used his vast medical knowledge to claim that COVID was no worse than the common cold and would disappear when the weather warmed uncovered the root cause of the Nashville shooting — hormone therapy. Trump said he banned transgender people from serving in the military because “the amount of drugs they have to take is so incredible. The anger that those hormones cause can lead to violence.” Maybe if Donnie didn’t suffer from that debilitating heel spur that kept him out of the Army, he would have learned that the whole purpose of the military is violence. Hormone-crazed trans GIs would have wiped out ISIS in no time.

Leave it up to Donnie, Junior to go farthest. On Monday night, he tweeted, “Maybe, rather than talking about guns we should be talking about lunatics pushing their gender affirming bulls — — on our kids.” He followed up with a Tuesday tweet that said “there’s a clear epidemic of trans/non-binary mass shooters.” Yup, Junior. One makes it a “clear epidemic”.
