A Toast to Mom

Pastor Matt’s sermons are always thoughtful and appropriate to the occasion. His Mother’s Day sermon included not only those celebrating moms still with us in person or in spirit, but those who never wanted to be mothers and those who aren’t but would give anything to become moms.

Donald Trump’s pronouncements are always bitter and self-serving, even on Mother’s Day. “Happy Mother’s Day to ALL, in particular the Mothers, Wives and Lovers of the Radical Left Fascists, Marxists, and Communists who are doing everything within their power to destroy and obliterate our once great Country. Please make these complete Lunatics and Maniacs Kinder, Gentler, Softer and, most importantly, Smarter, so that we can, quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

That would make a great toast to Mom at Mother’s Day Brunch.

It also is an indictment of whoever taught young Donnie capitalization in grade school English class.

Poor Melania! She bore Donnie’s most recent child while putting up with his affairs. She doesn’t even get a mention on Mother’s Day.

Meanwhile, Ron DeSantis actually mentioned the mother of his children in his Mother’s Day message. “Madison, Mason and Mamie are lucky to have the best mother in the world — @CaseyDeSantis. Thank you for all that you do for our family, we love you very much!” He also used proper capitalization and punctuation though a few extra exclamation point at at the end would be OK for emphasis.

As Pastor Matt pointed out last Sunday, “There are all sorts of mothers. They all deserve to be celebrated. Unless you are Donald Trump.
